” By analysing corporate communications from major airlines, manufacturers, and industry organisations, the research identified seven dominant narratives that collectively construct an image of climate responsibility while legitimising continued growth, including three new strategies that were not previously reported in past scholarship. These narratives form a discursive system that sustains belief in aviation’s “compatible coexistence” with climate breakdown (Hopkins et al., 2023), even though emissions from the sector continue to rise.” more
